How to automatically send a link when someone comments on Instagram
A step-by-step walkthrough: set up one automation that DMs your link to everyone who comments with your keyword.
1. The problem this solves
"Where did you get that?" "How much?" "Is there a link?" — every one of those comments is a buyer who is ready right now. Answering them manually works until a post gets traction; then you answer all night, miss half the comments, and lose the sales that came while you slept.
Automatic link delivery fixes this permanently. One keyword, one link, and every person who comments gets the DM in seconds — whether it is three comments or three thousand.
2. The 5-minute setup
1. Connect your Instagram account to ReplyChat through the official Instagram API. 2. Create a new comment-to-DM automation. 3. Choose a short keyword — PRICE, LINK, GUIDE. Short words get typed correctly more often.
4. Write the public reply — "Just sent it to your DMs 📩" is enough. 5. Write the DM: one sentence, your link, one call to action. 6. Select the posts it runs on and activate. Done — the automation now runs on every comment that matches.
3. What to send in the DM
The best-performing DMs send exactly what was asked for: a product page for "where did you get that", a pricing catalog for "how much", a checkout link for "I want one". Match the keyword to the destination and conversion takes care of itself.
If you want ideas, the Instagram DM templates cover the common cases — product links, discount codes, lead magnets, booking links — with copy you can adapt in a minute.
4. How to know it is working
Watch three numbers after the first week: DMs delivered (is the keyword being used?), link clicks (is the message compelling?), and conversations in your inbox (are buyers following up?). If DMs are high but clicks are low, rewrite the DM — not the automation.
Then scale it: one keyword per product or campaign, and post content that naturally invites the question your keyword answers.
